I have so many influences from classical to rock: on the film music side composers Rupert Gregson-Williams, John Williams, James Newton Howard to name a few. Producers Butch Vig, Steve Albini, Michael Beinhorn, Ben Grosse, Rick Rubin.
What is an interesting fun fact about you?
I had no formal training in music but played piano, guitar and drums by age 13. When I was at university I was on a path to become a doctor when I decided to drop out to pursue a music career full time.
Carlos Villalobos, (aka/ CJ Villa), is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and composer mostly recognized for his nouveau flamenco project, Esperanza (formerly, La Esperanza), his production and songwriting with Rock, Pop, Latin, Hip-Hop, EDM and Country artists, and his work on 'Empire' (FOX), 'Baywatch Hawaii' (NBC), 'Sex & The City (HBO), among others.
