What is an interesting fun fact about you?
I was a classical violinist first before everything in music. It created a lot of structure in my music you will hear on the radio today.
Mia Koo (born Aug 22, 1990) is a LA/NY based classically trained musician, singer, writer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, (Protools, Logic, Violin, Voice, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, and Ukelele) and actress. Studying classical violin in orchestra and chamber orchestras independently throughout NY in music school and a specialized music district school in 1996-2007.
Mia Koo signed with Royalty Network at 17 years old pitching songs to artists such as Britney Spears, P Diddy, Demi Lovato, Flo Rida, Selena Gomez, Enrique Iglesias and more. She has also written jingles/theme songs with Wind Up Records in NYC and working out of her studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2012 to perfect her craft. Mia’s track record includes co-writing for/with artists such as Inna, Stacy Clark, Crash Boom Bang, Andreas Schuller, Wallpaper, Eytan and the Embassy, Patent Pending, Markus Schulz, Plain White T’s, Gwen Stefani, and many more. Her music has been featured on various radio stations across the world, US Billboard Hot 100, US Billboard Pop 100, and US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, and shows such as MTV’s The Hills, Hard Times with RJ Berger, American Idol, Canadian Idol, VH1′s Tool Academy, and various other TV shows internationally.
Mia is currently in the studio recording her new album for her newest solo project after just recently signing a worldwide distribution deal with Royalty Network/BFM Digital April of 2013. Currently licensing her catalog to labels such as Interscope, Sony, Hollywood Records, Atlantic Records, APG, Universal, and Warner Bros, ULTRA, Enhanced, Coldharbour Recordings, and many more. As of May 13, 2016, Mia has currently topped the Billboard Dance Electronic Album Chart at #4 (iTunes Dance/Electronic Albums at #1 as well!) with her single/feature on Markus Schulz new Album “Watch The World” with her track “Summer Dream” on radio internationally now.
